miss Kelly Crowe at the oasis. i was one of the lucky ones able to take part in 2 of her first scrapbooking classes. Kelli is so fun and has such energy...and such a sweetie! Amazing that she flew out from Atlanta on Friday and was at the store teaching until the wee hours and was still wearing a smile...and her hubby John David too! Thanks Kelli! You ARE a "rock star"! (and thanks Wendy and Karen for hosting such a fabulous event!)

p.s. thank you blogger for being nice and letting me post a photo. I will cross my fingers that you will let me post more photos later. i wonder if you heard me talking about juming ship to go to typepad.

the glass castle..

just finished this book! Had to share with you as it has really touched me and can't stop thinking about it. I haven't read a book that has affected me like this since the 2 James Frey books. sprinkles cupcakes...

are my favorite...the way to my heart is through my sprinkles cupcakes! My hubby brought me some home yesterday from the new store that just opened in Corona Del Mar. Waited in line for over 30 min.! Gotta love him! Delish! xoxo

Went to Kentucky to go to the wedding of my nephew, Matt and his new beautiful wife Laura! Was such a treat to be there and share in their celebration. It was a perfect day! Congrats! xoxo

went to Kentucky for a wedding! Will share pictures as soon as I have the thumbs up to do so from the bride and groom. Went to one of my favorites yesterday, Scrapbook Oasis...love getting new patterned papers...some Scenic Route, Hambly Screen Prints, Sassafras Lass, Cosmo Cricket, A2Z essentials, American Crafts, Junkitz and SEI! Need to start using them more since I love them so very mucho! (and some new Heidi Swapp goodies too!...love those little file folders!) xoxo

of my favorite show...so you think you can dance. I have watched this video (click under Wade's photo) of the opening sequence from Thursday's show about 20 times. Think I may even buy the music by Roisin Murphy from itunes...I know it's a little out there but I think it's definitely art...in my opinion! xoxo

oc fair & seal concert...

had a blast at the orange county fair last Sat. Was able to see Seal in Concert which was fantastic! Love all the colors of the fair...the maternity barn, the photo exhibit, the smells of all the funnel cakes...just love it all. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our day at the fair! xoxo

Here in the Henkel house we've been waiting to see this commerical...(click on the commercial titled "band"!) Why the excitement? Because the drummers are Dave's students! How fun is that? I went to the Universal Studios set in April to watch them film it and had a great time! You may not see it unless you watch channels catered to the Spanish speaking population. And here is the icing on the cake, I have an aunt and uncle that have worked for pepsi for several years! Three cheers for Pepsi and the celeb drummers! :-) xoxo

happiness...

My mom got me thinking yesterday as she was talking about what she always hopes for in life for Gary (my brother) and I...happiness! Then I found Ali Edwards, scrapbook superstar, daily happiness on-line journal! What is my happiness today? It's spending time outside with my husband and soaking up all the goodness a day with him brings! So to quote Ali, "What is your happiness today?"

sweet family...

Dave and I had dinner with some friends last night...what a sweet family they are! We had yummy sushi at "sushi on the rock"....kitchen sink roll is my fav! One of the sweetest things of the whole night was this little one named Mya! Wanted to just hug and squeeze and rock and love this little bundle of goodness! Thanks Kim and Tom for giving me special permission to share your princess here! Love ya! xoxo

inspiration overload...

had such a great day yesterday at the rubber stamp show in carson on Saturday...just wasn't there long enough...will be on my list to go back in November for the next shoe! After the show went to meet our friends to go to our annual Pageant of the Masters celebration! Had dinner at Clae's...fabulous view! Then spent the night with said friends and went back to the Festival of the Arts on the way home this morning...walked around and soaked in all the art and sun!
