memories to share.

hello!
It's been so long since I've posted on my blog. I recently became reconnected with a couple people on facebook (Hi Cheri and Patrice!) and they took a peek here and saw it's been awhile...so I revisited this and decided it's a nice place to look back at all the milestones and exciting things that happen in the Henkel house. So with that in mind, I will attempt to add things occasionally in an effort to be able to look back when I'm scrapbooking these memories.

Last month was an exciting month as Carson was able to meet his Uncle Gary, Aunt Chihiro and cousin Ali who stopped for a visit as they were passing through from Japan to their next stop. My mom and Bryan had an amazing gathering at their house for our family and their home looked wonderful. We had an amazing time with great pictures to show for it. We love that sweet little family of 3!
I'm still busy at work and try to find time to scrapbook here and there...and been working on 2 books for a friend and 1/3 done on the 2 book. I've enjoyed working on them for her and happy with how they have turned out. Once complete, it will be time to work on pages for Carson's book. Have recently met 2 friends through scrapbooking and am reminded how much I love this hobby. They are so much fun to be with and enjoy paper and stickers as much as I do! Hi Alex and Sandy! xoxo
Carson is really enjoying the following these days:
He is still a book lover. At school they said his favorite is "I love you stinky face". I have yet to locate this one at the library or Barnes and Noble. Carson is surprising us with new foods that he loves...we can add strawberries and craisins to the list. We took him to the park yesterday with such great weather and he loved kicking the ball around. Looking forward to summer for swim lessons or soccer. Bath time for that little monkey. Off I go.
His favorite kitty (pictured above) Somedays I wonder if he's going to lose his arms/legs...he has had to have some mending on his little neck. This kitty is loved oh so much!
Anything Mater/Cars...can't wait for Cars 2!
Loves the following shows: Babar, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Backyardigans, Wow Wow Wubzy. Saturday, January 23, 2010

sigh...
it's been over 3 months since my last post. Sounds like a confession at church. please forgive me. So many happenings over here. A trip to Scottsdale, a trip or two to Disney, the zoo and lots of fun memories being created with a certain little 2year year old. Hard to believe he is 2. How did that happen? Also, been working on putting back together my little creative space after the purchase of a new table that I love.
So with that said, here are a few phone photos from what's been going on over here. Is there anyone still visiting here?
Do I continue my little hiatus or start posting on my blog again?

a sweet...
photo of my pink cheeked, finally healthy baby boy...recovering after a battle with pnuemonia.
Now I am ready to continue my focus for a fun time next weekend. Hosting a make and take which I'm really excited about....involves some fun felt and scalloped paper...which I can never get enough of either. I know space is still available if you are thinking of joining the whole weekend or even just the vendor faire with make and takes. Take and peek and let me know if you are joining us. Fun times will be had by ALL.
xoxo

totally inspired.
I was totally moved when I watched this video. Maybe because I had to go right to itunes and buy that beauty of a song. Maybe it was because I adore this family. Maybe it was because we are so very lucky to call them our friends. Maybe because Ivy and Yindi are just too cute. Maybe because I can relate to Em being a mom of a 1 1/2 year old like me. Maybe because we traveled together when said 1 1/2 year olds were just baby bumps across the world an a magical trip. Maybe because I wish I had many pennies to afford me one of these too. Maybe because the video is simply amazing and the photos are breathtaking. Maybe because the photographer is way cool and a friend of ours too. (and has a sweet, sweet family) Yep...I think it's all of the above. Way to go Tara and Michel!
(p.s. I'm hoping one day I can say first hand that Michel is way cool too!)

p.s. #2- Couldn't leave a post with no photos...added some of the last time we were able to get together with the Falconbridge Family. Love. xoxo

it's been so long...
where to begin...my poor little blog...I did not mean to abandon you. My life has been so busy...I will try to add you back in my life once again.
Here we go...
So many things have happened since my last post...but the BIGGEST most fun thing ever was the wedding of my brother and his sweet wife Chihiro in January in Japan. My mom was able to go...you can see more pictures from her once in a lifetime, amazing trip on her blog. Congrats G&C! Love you both!
Excited to share that I will be doing a little make and take at this fun event...check it out! Reflections. Love the hosts oodles....Karen and Susan. Thanks for asking me to take part in it.
Carson...growing like a weed. These days he's into DVD's, ABC's, coloring and Thomas. As far as DVD's go, his favs are Yo Gabba Gabba, Elmo, Nemo, Toy Story 1 and 2 and anything by Preschoolprepco.com. Love those educational ones. That is how is has learned alphabet recognition, numbers and he is still working on shapes and colors.
Talking more now...has a pretty good vocabulary...most of it is one to two words at a time...everything else is sentences but I wish I could tell you what he is saying.
Met Mickey Mouse for the first time and was so exciting to get up to see him after waiting in line...kept saying Mickey, Mickey...but once we reached him he just wasn't too sure...and then once we were done he was doing baby sign for more and saying "more" too.

Don't want to talk too much since I want to leave something for my next post and not be a stranger....so until then...a few pictures from the last few weeks... xoxox
