photos, cupcakes and celebrating mothers day...

What a great day I had with my mom for Mother's Day on Saturday! Went to a photo exhibit at the Santa Monica Pier called Ashes and Snow. This was not just an exhibit, it was an experience...right down to building housing said exhibit was amazing...made out of cargo containers. If you have a chance to go see it before it moves to Bejing next year, I would definitely go! Then off to Venice we went for lunch and then wanted something sweet. Off we went to a place I've been wanting to try called Sprinkles in Beverly Hills! Oh my goodness! I think I've died and gone to cupcake heaven! So delish! Even the packaging was adorable...brown box with pink inside and inside that box were the most beautifully decorated cupcakes! Just too fun! If you go, be prepared to wait in line for these scrumptious treats! Mrs. Henkel loves Sprinkles!

a beautiful day...

in Escondido. Drove inland a tad last weekend and went on a hike at Daley Ranch. Think we will go back for a little picnic sometime. Really enjoyed it...great weather, company and environment...except the snake we stumbled upon...luckily no rattle. Wish I could remember the llama's name...now that's something you don't see everyday...a llama on a leash! xoxo

favorite places with favorite people!

What a great weekend! Yesterday Dave needed to borrow my mom's car to take a mattress out to his sister so it was a perfect opportunity for a mom/daughter day! Went to Scrapbook Oasis on the way up to LA to shop and Wendy at SO introduced us to Elsie Flannigan. She is adorable, positive and inspiring! Next time we'll have to take a class with her! Went to one of my favorite places for lunch, The Cheesecake Factory in Beverly Hills. Had a delish turkey burger! Would definitely order that again! Then worked our way over to another favorite place, Anthropologie....then Paper Source (another favorite)....and last but not least a new favorite for sure (recommended by Emily Falconbridge) Sweetpeas and Snapshots. I would love to live in that store! What a treasure that place is! Can't wait to go back! Thanks mom for such a nice day!

Today was spent with Dave at Daley Ranch in Escondido. Hiked about 3 miles and came home sunburned. Felt good to get some exercise and sunshine. Can't wait to get our pictures loaded...will be sure to share. Hope you all had a great weekend! xoxo
