It's uncle...

gary's birthday! The 20th is a special day for a special dude....Carson's uncle Gary and my baby bro! And just for his day, I will remind him of when I used to call him baby bro! Wish you were here to celebrate in person! We love you! xoxo

p.s. #2 Carson climbed out of his crib for the first time yesterday. I didn't get to see it with my own eyes and I'm still in denial. Have to add a tent to the crib to keep him in a bit longer. Maybe he should be a monkey for Halloween. xoxo

oh my...

has it really been that long since I've posted here? Some of the happenings...3 colds, lots of doctors appts. to prepare for an ear procedure next week for Carson, a couple of trips to Legoland, work and a little R&R with family. Whew....gets me tired just thinking about it all.

Here's a couple pages that I did recently. Wish there was more time to be "caught up" with all the photos I have of our sweet boy...although that would take awhile since I have so many.



Carson is sure learning lots and keeping us smiling for sure!

hair is growing and was even able to do a little faux hawk last weekend in the bath
knows how to do "itsy bitsy spider"
is starting to try more foods...if mommy and daddy are eating it then it must be good.
learning how to come down the stairs...has mastered going up
able to say "yosh" for yoshi our kitty, silly, and outside...along with some other as previously mentioned
becoming interested in duplo blocks
says "woof" when he sees a dog
loves to watch yo gabba gabba on the computer while sitting on my lap...and taps his fingers on the desk
knows where eyes, mouth, nose, teeth, fingers and toes are....oh and belly/tummy
thinks it funny to throw all his toys over the child gate and down the stairs
able to climb up his changing table
had to put the "exersaucer" in the garage since he decided he wanted to be "king of the exersaucer" by standing on the top of it with no hands

my little artist...

loves to play with paint, markers and anything that makes a masterpiece. This is the aftermath of some fun at school (daycare) on Friday. Love that they take pictures (on their cell phones) for us and let them go to town with something oh so fun and oh so messy! Way to go my little creative one.

ahhh...to be able to sleep like this anywhere. love this! Love those eyelashes and those heart shaped lips...just love it all. Makes me smile! sweet dreams baby boy! xoxo

can hardly believe that my baby boy is 1...one whole year! What an amazing year it has been! We had a great time at disney on his special day. The crown snapshot is from lunch at grammie's house. Thanks mom...love the crown...thanks to the creative sita for that one! xoxo

fourth! We are staying low key. Carson is getting over a re-infection...poor thing. And daddy and mommy are finally better. Knock on wood. Love days like today; dave has gone to the store for watermelon and milk & eggs for cupcakes I'm going to make later. delish.

Had to share a photo that just melts my heart! The baby girl is sweet "one year old" yindi!

Can't believe our little guy will be one year old in 10 days. This time last year I was able to watch the fireworks while laying in bed very pregnant. This year will be even better since Carson will be here to enjoy the show.

last few days...

flew by...week before last Dave gave me an early mom's day gift by sending my mom and me to see one of my favorite musical groups, Pink Martini! Love them and loved the show. Think my mom did too! Look forward to seeing them again. Always makes me happy.

My first Mother's Day was really great. A nice relaxing day around home with a walk to a local antique street fair and to the beach after that. Spent the day with my boys...couldn't have asked for more. Dave and Carson spoiled me. Was a fun day! Well...any day with my boys is a fun day! Also, wanted to tell my mom again how much I appreciate what she does for all family and loves unconditionally. We love you mom!

The same day we went to see Pink Martini, we had Parent-Teacher conference at Carson's little school and his 9 month appt. Was fun to see what they put together at school. Loved hearing that "Carson has a sunny disposition". Doctor was totally surprised to see 9 teeth in Carson's little mouth. With a 10th one almost pushing it's way through. Whew...poor little guy is a trooper to have those 1 year molars come through so early.

Love "new music Tuesdays"! Last week was a great one cause his new CD debuted. Can never have enough of him!

At the beginning of May we took Carson for his first trip to the zoo. Was a great day and love the photos even though they may not be the best quality...they still melt my heart!

Not a minute goes by where I'm not thinking of my dear mom-in-law, who has had some tough times the last couple of weeks. Love you June...and my sweet sis-in-law, Mindi too! Thinking of you both!

artistic affaire...

was great fun! Feel so lucky to have been part of such a special day on Saturday at my sweet friend Kim's house for artistic affaire. It was so fun to be with Emily and Candice again and to meet Lori too. Every participant was oh so nice and Kim thought of every detail. I only wish the day wouldn't have gone by so fast. Will have to download photos from my camera soon...I'll be sure to add them here if there are any decent ones.

On another note, I'm wishing my sweet MIL a speedy recovery. Sending her lots and lots of happy thoughts and hoping to see her soon to give her lots of TLC.

Now off to get some sleep since Carson hasn't allowed mommy and daddy too much of it in the last couple of days since he is teething...must be the one year mollars since the front 8 are in. whew.

re-do...

sometimes I wish I could have a "re-do" of certain days...take yesterday and today for example...yesterday one of our 2 kitties passed away. She was 19. Wow...19...a long time in cat years. She was such a sweet cat. Then there was today...get a call from Carson's school saying he busted his lip open playing with the rocking chair. Poor baby...luckily no stitches are needed and looks much better than it did earlier today. (I'll spare you the photos of the "ouchie" lip and leave you with sweet ones instead. :-) )

Kay...now for some happy...weather here has been so nice...been able to take a few walks to the beach lately . April 19 was our 8 year wedding anniversary. Was really surprised to receive a new camera. Love it and love my hubby! Can't wait to experiment with it more...maybe after I'm done working on kits for a super fun National Scrapbook Day with a couple old friends and lots of new ones too!

sweet home. Was in Toronto last week and am now loving being home. Now getting ready for this fun day! Lots to cut and kit...fun times!

Baby boy has 8 teeth now (which you can see the new tooth on the bottom right). Will be taking his first steps soon. Trying to just relish every single moment! xoxo

long time...

no post. We've been here...just been busy...with a road trip to vegas last weekend and a birthday celebration for some family yesterday...and of course everything in between haven't had much time to get on the ole' blog. Thought Carson's first trip up the stairs today deserved a blog post. He will be walking before we know it. Both Dave and I were early walkers so I think Carson will follow in those same footsteps. kinda...

it's our "kinda anniversary" today. Dave and I had our first date 20 years ago today. I remember it like yesterday...there was a beach, a BBQ, some hamburgers, sand and lots of laughter...that would be some sand in the hamburgers....so funny when you think about it...and then there was the wave that got him totally wet and he will tell you that I saw it coming but didn't tell him. He bought me a card and flowers. On the "anniversary" card he wrote in "kinda". Makes me smile...as does he! Love you to the moon and back! happy kinda anniversary my love! xoxo

almost spring...

love this time of year...but don't love all the allergies, colds and other stuff that goes with it. We are lucky to be on the road to recovery. Had a nice weekend and was even able to go and help with a beach clean up with some friends.

Thought I would add something creative to this post. Miss spending time making stuff and wish there was more time to do it all. For now, I'm doing what I love most and savoring every moment with my sweet baby boy...that will be 1 year old before I know it.

loving playing with 1 cheerio...won't give you more than that and of course we sit right next to you to see what you do with it...and you play with it and it ends up sticking to you and very rarely put it in your mouth.

for a fresh new week...with no flat tires, no car problems, no more trips to emergency, no more sickies, no more fire hydrants exploding next to our house. I think bad news comes in threes and we are beyond that the last couple of weeks....so here's to praying for all things that bring happiness! xoxo

blur..

that's what Carson is now...just a blur. All over the place...was loading the dishwasher this morning and he decided he wanted to help. Grammie and I took him to a fun little play gym today and he had a blast. Didn't get that many photos of him and what I did get is blurry. Just wanted to enjoy his first time there and not worry about having a camera in my hand...left that up to grammie. Next time daddy is coming....wasn't able to today since he was working. Have been super busy the last couple of weeks hence my absence from the blog...and have had to nurse sick boys in the henkel household...and even a run to emergency last weekend for baby boy which ended up being a respiratory infection with 2 earaches....and high fever. Poor baby is better now.

Hard to believe Carson is 7 1/2 months now and before we know it he will be 1 year old. Wow!

He's 19 lbs. now with 7 teeth. The top 4 are still pushing through but you can definitely see them in all their glory in the photo above.
